SRH All-Nighter XIII Inline Hockey Tournament Details
Your team and schedule for the SRH All-Nighter XIII Tournament on Saturday, April 13th at Midwest Sport Hockey in Queeny Park is listed below. Please be dressed and ready to step on the rink a few minutes before your team's first game. Your team could start as early at 11:00AM!
The address for Midwest Sport Hockey is...
570 Weidman Road
Ballwin, MO 63011
The last day to drop out of the tournament was Thursday, April 4th! No exceptions for any reason! This includes, sickness, work, new children being born, being abducted by aliens or anything else that I can't even think of right now! If you needed to drop out, you should have done so on or before that date. Dropping out now means you will lose your entire entry fee! Again, no exceptions!
If you have any goalie equipment, please bring it with you even you are not listed as a goalie for this tournament. You can just leave it locked up in your car. It could really help us out in the case of a goalie getting injured.
The bar will be open as soon as possible and be open until at least midnight. Credit cards are ok at the bar. Do not bring any alcohol with you. MWSH is giving us a deal on the rink time, so the least we can do is buy our drinks from them. That said, let's stick around after the tournament and have drinks/snacks/food at the bar. The winning team can certainly fill the trophy with beer and have fun with it. Also, it is your responsibility to ensure you do not drink so much that you are too inebriated to safely play in the games. If a referee determines you are too intoxicated, you will be removed from the tournament without refund and your team will not be able to replace you.
There will be a drawing for a $100 prize at the end of the tournament. You must still be in attendance to win. If I draw your name and you are not close enough to hear your name being called, I will draw another name. All players will have an equal shot at winning the $100 prize. The players on the worst team will have just as good a shot to win as the players on the winning team.
Games are two 15 minute periods. The clock stops in the last minute of tied or 1 goal games. Pucks in netting above the glass will stop play. Round robin games ending in a tie will remain a tie. Playoff games ending in a tie will go straight to a 3 man NHL style shootout. All teams make playoffs. Top 2 teams get a bye. No timeouts in round robin games. One timeout per team in any playoff game. There is a 7 goal mercy rule in all games. Each team will be guaranteed 5 games, but could play as many as 7 games.
***AFTER YOU SCORE A GOAL, PLEASE SKATE DIRECTLY TO THE SCORER'S TABLE AND TELL THE SCOREKEEPER YOUR NAME/NUMBER AND THE NAME/NUMBER OF THE PERSON WHO PASSED YOU THE PUCK. THERE WILL NEVER BE MORE THAN 1 ASSIST ON ANY GOAL. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP. THIS WILL REALLY HELP OUT OUR SCOREKEEPER. PLEASE DON'T MAKE HIM GUESS WHO SCORED OR GOT THE ASSIST.***
Your captain will be in touch with you on the day of the tournament about your team's dressing room. You may not hear about which dressing room you're in until right as the tournament is beginning. Do not be impatient. It just takes time for these things to sort themselves out that day.
Your captain will also need to distribute your jerseys and write down your numbers before taking those numbers to the scorekeeper as soon as possible before your first game. You must wear the jersey provided to you in all games. Our sponsors paid to have their names/logos out there, so please respect their investment in our tournament. It wouldn't be a bad idea to bring a pair of scissors to cut the sleeves of your jersey if it's too big. Each team will be provided with the following jersey sizes: XXL, XXL, XL, XL, XL, L, L, L, Goalie Cut
Go here to view the contact information of everyone in the tournament. You will need a password to access that page. You will receive that password via text message. This is to keep everyone's phone number from being posted for the world to see.
*****This is very important. This is not a bloodsport event. Of course you want to win, but this is not the place for people to be disrespectful. IF THE REFEREE CALLS YOU FOR A PENALTY, SHUT YOUR MOUTH AND GO SIT IN THE BOX. IF HE MISSES A CALL, SHUT YOUR MOUTH AND PLAY THE GAME. IF YOU THINK THE REFEREE IS TERRIBLE, GET OVER IT. NOBODY CARES IF YOU THINK YOU GOT SCREWED. WINNING THIS THING IS NOT THAT IMPORTANT. Treat your teammates and opposing players with respect. If you cannot do this, then this tournament is not for you. If you are thrown out of a game you are done for the evening, you will receive no refund and your team will not be allowed to replace you.*****
All players are expected to stick around and help clean up their locker rooms and bench areas before leaving. Please do not leave your teammates to clean up after you.
