SRH All-Nighter X Inline Hockey Tournament

  • WHEN IS THE SRH ALL-NIGHTER X TOURNAMENT?
    • Start Time: 2:00PM on Saturday night March 14, 2020.
    • End Time: Approximately 9:35PM on Saturday night March 14, 2020.
    • Please make sure you are completely available between 2:00PM AND 10:00PM on Saturday night, March 14th.
    • The bar will remain open until Midnight.
  • WHERE IS THE SRH ALL-NIGHTER X TOURNAMENT?
  • WHO IS ALLOWED TO PLAY AND HOW MANY PLAYERS WILL BE TAKEN?
    • All skaters may begin registering immediately.
    • Goalies on the SRH Call List as of 1/2/2020 may begin registering immediately. If you don’t know what the SRH Call List is, go to https://www.sundayrollerhockey.com/page3 to see for yourself.
    • Goalies not on the SRH Call List may begin registering on 1/4/2020.
    • There will be 5 teams of 8 skaters and 1 goaltender each.
    • All players must fill out the skill check questionnaire right before/after they pay. This will allow the captains to draft you in the appropriate spot and build 5 fairly evenly matched teams.
  • HOW WILL THE TEAMS BE DETERMINED?
    • You may not register an entire team in this tournament.
    • You may only register individually and be drafted onto a team.
    • There will be 40 skaters and 5 goaltenders in the tournament. 5 players will be appointed by Jason Miller as a captain.
    • The remaining 40 players will then be chosen in a fantasy auction style draft to fill the 5 rosters.
      • The exact date of the draft is still to be determined.
      • The auction draft will be held at an establishment to be determined where anyone who decides to show up would be more than welcome.
      • The auction draft will be live posted on Facebook (follow the thread on the Facebook event page). Please email me at jasonmillersrh@yahoo.com if you need to be invited to the Facebook event page.
      • Unfortunately, it is not possible for me to guarantee that you will be able to play on a team with any certain friend you may have playing in the tournament.
  • HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO REGISTER?
    • Every player (including goaltenders) must pay $45 to play in the tournament. Read further for payment instructions.
  • HOW DO I SIGN UP?
    • You must be paid in full in order for your spot to be reserved. I will not hold your spot simply because you intend to pay at a later date. There can be no exceptions to this rule.
    • Go to the bottom of this page to pay your $45 ($46.65 with the fees I will incur) via major credit card or by using your PayPal account. Spots will be filled purely on the basis of the order in which I receive payment. Be aware that because it takes time for me to update the player list each day due to work and family commitments, spots may fill before I add you to the tournament roster. If the tournament fills before I receive your payment, I will add you to the waiting list. If the tournament happens and you do not play, your payment will be refunded in full within 3 days after the conclusion of the tournament.
    • You may also pay me with cash or by sending a check for $45 to Jason Miller, 16700 Westglen Farms Drive, Wildwood, MO 63011. If you pay by check, be aware that because it will take time for your check to arrive, spots may fill before I receive your payment. You will not have a spot reserved for you simply because your check is in the mail. I must have it in my hands to count. If the tournament fills before I receive your payment, I will add you to the waiting list. If the tournament happens and you do not play, your refund check will be placed in the mail within 3 days after the conclusion of the tournament (assuming you have given me an address to which I can mail your refund check).
  • WHAT IF I SIGN UP AND REALIZE LATER THAT I CAN'T PLAY?
    • If you register and realize later that you are unable to play, just e-mail me at jasonmillersrh@yahoo.com and let me know that you'd like to cancel. You will be refunded as soon as possible via the same method in which you paid. If you paid by check, please let me know the address at which you'd like to receive your refund check.
    • Please be aware! No cancellations will be allowed after February 27th, 2020 for any reason at all! Canceling after this time or simply not showing up to the tournament will result in a complete forfeiture of your $45 entry fee! Missing all or a portion of the tournament is not a reason for a full or partial refund. Again, after February 27th, 2020 there will be no refunds of any kind (except for those people who were on the waiting list at the time of the tournament)!
      • The following reasons WILL NOT be considered acceptable reasons for canceling/being refunded after the above-mentioned deadline. I’m sorry, but it just has to be this way. If this rule were not in place, I’d have people canceling left and right and it would be pure chaos.
        • Any sickness, including Ebola
        • Any injury, including those sustained while fleeing a town overrun by Ebola
        • Death in the family, including those caused by Ebola
        • Sickness in the family, even if it’s Ebola
        • Having to work, even as a doctor for Ebola patients
        • Having another hockey game at the same time
        • Having to go out of town, even due work or to an Ebola scare
        • Your wife or girlfriend doesn’t want you to play
        • You’re really tired
        • Any other reason you could possibly think of, whether or not it’s related to Ebola.
        • In other words, if you’re going to cancel, do it by February 27th, 2020. After that, you’re out of luck and your money is gone.

    • Officials
      • There will be 2 officials in every game.

    • Midwest Sport Hockey Rules
      • These rules are not negotiable. I’d like to keep having this tournament every year and this is the only way that can happen. Failure to comply can result in your ejection from the tournament without refund and could keep us from having this tournament again in the future.
        • YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO LOITER IN THE PARKING LOT OR OUTSIDE THE BUILDING BETWEEN GAMES! YOU MUST REMAIN INSIDE THE BUILDING THE ENTIRE NIGHT!
        • NO ALCOHOL/DRUGS OF ANY KIND MAY BE BROUGHT ONTO THE PREMISES! THE BAR WILL BE OPEN UNTIL MIDNIGHT. MIDWEST SPORT HOCKEY IS GIVING US A DEAL ON THE RINK TIME, SO THE LEAST WE COULD DO IS BUY OUR DRINKS FROM THEM. PLEASE JUST LEAVE THE ALCOHOL AT HOME.
    • Game Rules
      • Each game will consist of two 15 minute (running clock) periods.
      • The clock will only stop during the last minute of games which are either tied or within 1 goal.
      • The referees will be given latitude to determine if the clock should stop for any other reason (puck out of play, injuries, etc.).
      • Time outs
        • Time outs are not allowed in round robin games.
        • One 30 second time out is allowed per team per playoff game.
      • The whistle will be blown and play will be stopped if the puck touches the high netting above the glass at either end of the rink.
        • For the sake of clarity, the whistle will be blown and play will be stopped if the puck touches anything above the boards or glass.
      • Regular house league penalties will be called during the tournament. Players will serve the appropriate amount of time in the penalty box as determined by the officials.
      • Fighting will not be tolerated. The referees will have the power to eject any player from a game for any reason (not just fighting). If this happens, you are done for the night and you will not receive any type of refund.
      • Tied Games
        • Round robin games ending in a tie will remain a tie.
        • Playoff games ending in a tie will be resolved in the following manner:
          • 3 on 3 sudden death overtime for 3 minutes. Teams will not switch ends and there will be no break before the beginning of OT.
          • If the OT does not determine a winner, we will go immediately go to a 3 man NHL style shootout to determine a winner.
            • All players except for the current shooter and the goaltenders must remain completely inside their bench during the shootout.
            • Each shooter should immediately go to the scorer’s table after their shootout attempt and tell the scorekeeper their name.
  • PRIZES AND AWARDS
    • At the conclusion of the tournament, one random player will have their name drawn out of a hat and win a $100 cash prize. The player’s team need not win a single game for this to happen.
      • In order to win the $100 cash prize, you must be in attendance (even if your team is eliminated before the championship game) and close enough to me to hear your name called out. If you are not present, I will immediately draw another name.
      • Odds of winning the $100 prize
        • Members of the team to win the championship will each have their name in the hat 3 times.
        • All other players will each have their name in the hat 1 time.
    • During the next day or two after the tournament, all players should text or e-mail me (jasonmillersrh@yahoo.com) their choices for tournament MVP and Most Outstanding Goaltender.
      • All players will be informed of the results of the voting as soon as possible.
